Tourists come to South Florida for the weather, the beaches,
and the night life. It takes a local to know that the area has much more to
offer, especially for fans of the arts. Take any one of the coastal communities
from Dade, Broward, or Palm Beach county and you are sure to find a wide range
of theaters, concerts, comedy shows, and even art galleries.
Recently we decided to visit Downtown Hollywood’s monthly
Art Walk event. While it isn’t as large or as popular as Miami’s event of the
same name, there is no shortage vendors, musicians, or artists showing off
their skills.
Taking place on Hollywood Boulevard, you can enjoy a unique
set of murals covering the walls of one of Broward’s oldest neighborhoods. Once
you’ve had your art and culture fix, you can finish the night at one of the 2
dozen bars or restaurants that cover the block. Check out the video to see what we found along the way.
