Grizzlies Will Miss Gay

It was announced today that Memphis Grizzlies SF Rudy Gay is out for the season, due to the fact that his injured right shoulder will need surgery.

Get well soon, Rudy.

To many, his absence won't mean much, but any basketball purist can see the impact it will have. The Grizzlies are a young and improving squad, and Rudy is arguably their best player. He scores in a number of ways, rebounds, and defends his position quite well. Many analysts had the Grizzlies pinned to give their first round opponent fits in this years playoffs, but now that prospect is looking increasingly dim.

It hurts to see injuries taint the NBA playoffs every year, but it is just a part of the game. Here's hoping that Rudy makes a strong comeback next season, and continues hitting game-winners over LeBron.
